The project concerns interior refurbishment of a Victorian villa, constructed between 1860 and 1879, as part of the planned development of Lord Holland’s Estate, providing around 80 villas. The property is Listed Grade II in Historic England and is in the Holland Park Conservation Area. It is a detached house with three storeys, attic and basement, it is three bays wide (1:1:1) and has symmetry in plan and elevation. The design is not a restoration proposal of the original building state, but an update of the property, in order to meet contemporary needs of the owners with respect to the old fabric. The changes proposed have minimum impact on the surviving structure and décor of this historic building. In addition, the design is efficient budget wise and in terms of serviceability during the refurbishment works as well.
